
Gujarat Titans (GT) veteran Pacers Isrand Sharma was fined 25% after violating Indian Premier League (IPL) code of conduct against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
In the ongoing tournament, the pacemaker became the second player to be condemned for disciplinary reasons, and Lucknow supergiant Spinner Digvesh Rathi was fined twice for his infamous “notebook” celebration.
The details behind the potential violation are unclear, but the governing body confirmed the punishment in a statement on Monday, April 7, following the ruling of match referee Javagal Srinath.
“Ishant Sharma, Powler, Gujarat Titans have been fined 25% of the game fees and have violated the IPL code of conduct in his team’s match against Sunrisers in Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad, which also accumulated a problem on Sunday’s Hyderabad, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.”
The statement further reads: “Under the charges of Article 2.2, Ishant Sharma pleaded guilty to Level 1 offences and accepted sanctions from the match referee. For Level 1 violations, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.”
Ishant Sharma Over the years, it has earned a notorious reputation, leading to a questionable discipline record. The veteran was fined several times on the international tour to argue.
He was fined 65% after violating the ICC’s code of conduct twice in his second test in 2017. The 36-year-old Pacer was also fined for active celebrations during the Birmingham exams in India’s 2018 England Tour. His dispute with Kamran Akmal in 2012 against Pakistan’s first T20I against Pakistan’s first T20I also resulted in a 15% fine.

His economic speed is 13.25, and the next most expensive bowler for GT is Rashid Khan, who scored 7.75 after he admitted his four free throws.
Ishant was not originally GT Playing XI, but after the season opener he came to Arshad Khan and has been a place in the bowling unit so far. He was also expensive in the GT defeat of RCB, scoring 27 runs in two matches, but he got the key wicket of Rajat Patidar.
