“In response to the Gaza emergency and my invitation to visit Egypt in President Al-Sisi, we will hold a trilateral summit with the President of Egypt and the King of Jordan,” Macron wrote on X before his trip.
The French president is expected to be in Cairo on Sunday night, and he will hold talks with his Egyptian counterparts on Monday morning.
According to Macron’s office, the trilateral summit will be held in the Egyptian capital on the same day.
Macron will also visit the Egyptian port 50 kilometers (30 miles) west of Gaza on Tuesday to meet with humanitarian and security workers and show his “continuous mobilization, support for the ceasefire.”
El-Arish is a crossing point for international aid against Gaza.
