There’s a new tech company that claims to have found the solution for one of the most mundane human tasks, and CNET’s ground team has seen the products in action. CES 2025.
Tenet’s AI Laundry Robots hopes to be a new and more efficient way to wash and dry your clothes. During the big tech show here in Las Vegas, Tenet, in association with TCL Globalpresents two different prototypes with the same goal: to make your life easier.
The smaller of the two is shaped like an egg and has a mechanical arm that hangs your clothes inside the machine. My first impression is that it looks small, so no matter how effective it is, it may not get the whole job done right away.
But there’s another feature that could be groundbreaking if it works: The company says it can also fold laundry. We haven’t seen it in action yet, so we can’t speak to its effectiveness. (Although we’ll note that Robots that fold laundry made big splashes at CES in the past and disappear.)

It also remains unclear how many pieces of clothing it can hold and dry at once, but if it’s a three-in-one machine that can wash, dry and fold itself, that could change. this is the world of laundry.
There is also a different front loading washing machinewhich the company refers to as the AI-powered garment recognition model, seems to work very well. By using cameras and light sensors inside the machine, Tenet says it can learn the best way to wash your clothes to keep them looking as good and as clean as possible. Then, when the washing is done, your clothes will dry too. (Let’s note that combined washer-dryers have been around for a long time and have never been good at drying.)

Is this the key to cleaner and smarter laundry?
The AI-powered garment recognition model — which seems to be able to handle more laundry than the egg-shaped AI Laundry Robot — used artificial intelligence to know the best way to wash your clothes. The washer detects what type of clothes you put in the machine and how many pieces within seconds of closing the door.
If you put a dark colored piece of clothing in a load of white clothes, the washer’s smart screen will quickly give you a warning warning that the color may bleed. After the warning, there are two options. You can remove the black piece of clothing from the load or leave it in and let the washer choose which cycle works best to prevent color bleeding during the cycle. After the cycle, the clothes are also dried so there is no need to worry about throwing the laundry in a different machine.
During a demonstration at CES 2025, our on-the-ground team saw the washer in action and seemed impressed with how quickly and accurately it identified the clothes placed in the machine. When the cycle starts, a stain index and timeline will also appear showing where the machine is in the cycle, and it will adjust the amount of detergent and water used during the cycle based on what the clothes need.
In addition, such as many other home products unveiled at CES 2025 (and those already on the market), the device can connect to an app that will notify you when the laundry is done.
When will it be available for purchase?
Tenet’s AI Laundry is expected to launch in the US by the end of 2025, but pricing has not yet been revealed.
At Tenet’s booth at CES 2025, a sentence similar to a mission statement was displayed that might just predict our future if this technology succeeds. It reads:
“By combining human-like perception, decision-making, and execution with our AI Laundry Robot, we aim to free individuals from repetitive household tasks, allowing them to focus on more creative and satisfying aspects of life.”
