James Woods is one of those celebrities whose homes survived the California wildfires.

Despite Woods’ initial concerns that his house had been destroyed by the fire that engulfed Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood on Tuesday, Woods shared a positive message when he returned home after evacuating.

“A miracle happened,” Woods wrote on X (formerly Twitter), along with a video of the view from his deck.

“We managed to reach our accommodation, and the home we were told was gone forever is still standing. ‘Standing’ is relative in this hellish landscape, but the smoke and other damage was not as outright as the one around us destroy.”

In the video Woods shared, he panned to “everything below us” to show the charred ground and buildings reduced to rubble as smoke rose in the distance.

“That’s Barre High School,” he said as he photographed the wreckage of the charter school’s campus.

“That’s our neighbor’s home,” Woods said, zooming in on a heavily damaged house.

The video continues with Woods filming a young man pouring water over bushes and wood siding.

“Francis, whose father we rescued, is now putting out the fire on our hillside,” he said. In a previous X post, Woods described how he helped organize the evacuation of an elderly neighbor.

Woods shows viewers a 360-degree view of the destruction, then zooms in again to a neighbor’s house.

“Oh my God, look at this,” Woods said. “OMG.”

In a follow-up post, Woods thanked fans for their support.

“There have been so many wonderful messages from all of you,” he said. “I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly the whole area looks like the dark side of the moon.

“This is fundamentally distressing and disturbing and makes it almost difficult to celebrate the good news that our home has survived.”

In addition to Woods, several other stars also revealed that their homes were spared from the devastating wildfires.

In an interview with MSNBC on Friday, the actress stood among the rubble and reflected on the devastation.

“My heart bleeds for my friends,” Garner said. “I mean, I can think of 100 families, 5,000 of them lost their homes. I can — without even (thinking) — Write a list of 100 friends who have lost their homes.

“I almost feel guilty when I walk through my house,” she added. “You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What can I offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?”

The “Alias” actor broke down in tears when she revealed that one of her friends died in a wildfire.

“I did lose a friend, and that’s really tender for our church. So, I feel like we shouldn’t be talking about it yet,” Garner said. “I did lose a friend. She didn’t escape in time.”

Molly Sims A home in Pacific Palisades also remains standing after wildfires swept through the area.

The actress shared a Image carousel Posted on Instagram showing the fire and its aftermath, writing “Right now, our home is okay.”

“I say this with a heavy heart because I know a lot of people can’t say that,” she continued. “Our sweet community has experienced the unimaginable and my heart is broken. Entire neighborhoods, families, schools, playgrounds, restaurants – places that hold memories, laughter and everything that makes us who we are – gone. . My friends I have lost everything and I have no words to describe the pain and devastation around us.”

Sims was surprised by the unity she saw in the community and praised first responders.

“Yet, in the midst of this heartache, I am truly in awe of the strength and unity that has emerged,” she wrote. “People are coming together in ways I never imagined – helping each other, looking out for each other, offering support, even when the weight of it all feels overwhelming.

“First responders and firefighters work around the clock, even when exhausted, and they are heroes. Their dedication is saving lives and their courage is immeasurable. Please know that they are doing their best and we have Used up all the water.

“Just this morning, I woke up and I was really aware of my state of mind and my mental health because I’ve seen so much tragedy in the past three days,” Guttenberg said. He told the media that his family There is electricity but no running water.

Guttenberg thanked God for making his neighborhood safe, but he said his neighborhood of 80 homes, including about Twenty homes were “considerably badly burned.”

He told The Associated Press it was the worst fire he had ever seen in his life. Guttenberg returned to his community to help others who remained with rescue efforts. The “Police Academy” star helped move trucks to clear the streets, distribute food and help neighbors get out of their homes.

“I’ve seen people being scared, people in wheelchairs, parents trying to find their children, people having anxiety and panic attacks,” Guttenberg said.

“There were all these houses behind me that were burned down and their families were enjoying their time with friends and family,” he added. “There’s definitely a lot of pain right now. I’m doing everything I can to help alleviate it.”

Guttenberg said he’s not sure how the film and TV industry will help as awards season begins.

“Everybody’s doing what normal people do – helping each other, giving each other food and water, helping each other in the backyard, the front yard,” he said. “Even if someone’s an actor, a producer, a writer, a director, we’re all just human beings… Maybe people can donate to some kind of fund at some point. But I’m just trying to be a good neighbor right now.”
