
Supporters of the far-right politicians gathering were found guilty of misappropriating European Parliament funds.
Marine Le Pen, the French far-right leader, called her conviction a “political decision” and promised to be convicted of embezzlement and prohibit Participate in elections, including the 2027 presidential vote.

Badra said the party did not want to “smear all judges”, but Le Pen’s belief was “a direct attack on democracy, a harm to millions of patriotic French people.”
Monday’s verdict, which could undermine Le Pen’s dream of winning the French presidency in two years, shocked the country’s political institutions.

Al Jazeera’s Natacha Butler reported from Paris that Le Pen hopes the court’s ruling on her candidacy can be upgraded or shortened so she can run for the next election.
“The Paris Court of Appeals said it is possible to be able to examine her appeal by mid-next year,” Butler said.
“Time will allow her to run in 2027,” she added.
Before Sunday’s rally, Le Pen urged her supporters to draw inspiration from America’s prominent nonviolence advocates in fighting for equal rights for Black Americans.
“We will follow the example of Martin Luther King, who defends civil rights,” she said to the hard alliance party in Italy via video link when she met in Florence.
In a Renaissance meeting of President Emmanuel Macron of the northern working-class Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal accused “a judge who attacked our institutions.”
“We will never cancel the court’s ruling here,” Attal said in the presence of Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.
“You stole it, you pay,” Atal said.
He also condemned the “unprecedented intervention” in French affairs, apparently pointing to the support of Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and others.
