It’s been a tough time for Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City with both sides struggling to make the playoffs in the revamped Champions League.
PSG start the night in 26th place, one point and two behind City, who occupy the final spot which will mean their European adventure continues for another month.
It’s not a situation that these two big-spending clubs – both backed by Middle Eastern money – would have imagined at the start of the campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain team news
The big news for the home side is the return of central defender and captain Marquinhos from a thigh injury.
The Brazilian, who missed their weekend win in Lens, comes in for Lucas Beraldo.
There were two other changes, with Achraf Hakimi and Joao Neves coming in for Lucas Hernandez and Warren Zaire-Emery.
PSG: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes, Ruiz, Neves, Vitinha, Lee, Dew, Barcola
Manchester City Team News
Pep Guardiola made two changes to the team that won 6-0 at Ipswich on Sunday, one implemented with Jeremy Docu out through injury.
Doku was superb on Portman Road at the weekend, but sustained a niggle which meant he was unable to travel to Paris. Savinho comes in for the Belgium winger.
Elsewhere, Bernardo Silva is preferred over Ilkay Gundogan in midfield.
Matthews Nunes continues on the right side.
Manchester City: Ederson, Nunes, Akanji, Dias, Guardiol, Kovacic, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo, Savinho, Foden, Haaland.
