Locals use TikTok to raise donations for Los Angeles fire victims


A group of street vendors are using the power of social media to rally a community to help those affected by the devastation of wildfires in Acadia, California.

Jimmy Medina Jr said the TikTok livestream helped him purchase supplies and prompted him to donate generously.

“Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers donated to us… and through their donations, we were able to purchase all of the ingredients,” Mr. Medina Jr. said.

A donation center has been set up in a parking lot at Santa Anita Park, where volunteers are helping those in need
