Borussia Dortmund are now working to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, according to Sky Germany.
Dortmund have held internal negotiations and have now decided to loan the England international.
The Bundesliga side distanced themselves from a potential move earlier this week, with Rashford said to not be head coach Nouri Shaheen’s first choice target.
The striker’s expected cost – and even the subsidies – are reportedly more than Dortmund can afford.
That stance seems to have changed now, but AC Milan have also made their interest very concrete and are actively trying to sign Rashford.
Rashford’s team have spoken to a number of European clubs this month to explore the terms of a deal.
If Manchester United allow Rashford to leave Old Trafford, their first choice is believed to be to loan Rashford outright.
Rashford has once again been left out of the squad for Thursday night’s Premier League clash with Southampton.
Following last weekend’s FA Cup third-round win over Arsenal, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was asked if Rashford had played his last game for the club.
“I don’t know. We’ll see,” Amorim said.
