chelsea Easily overtakes Morecambe FA Cup In the third round, despite only leading 1-0 at halftime at Stamford Bridge. Tosin Adarabioyo’s shot being blocked was the only difference between the two sides in the first half after Christopher Nkunku’s penalty was saved.
In the second half, goals from Nkunku, Joao Felix (x2) and Adarabioyo rewritten the score to 5-0. At half time, Maro Gusto, Mark Cucurela and Jayden were replaced. · Sancho improved his overall performance in the second half.
Enzo Maresca’s side Has 81% possession of the ballThe game took 28 shots and created 4 excellent opportunities, but the performance was uneven.
Tossin’s performance against Morecambe
Adarabioyo’s incredible brace grabbed the headlines, with the centre-back finding the back of the net twice from outside the box, both times being given space by Morecambe’s deep defense.
The 27-year-old Scored two goals1 clearance, 1 block, and 1 interception. He also won all four aerial duels and touched the ball 107 times in the game, with a pass completion rate of 93%.
Adarabioyo’s role in this game was very important, with Morecambe dropping so deep he had space to advance forward or drag the opposition forward towards him, setting up space for his defensive partner (Axel Disasi) ) to make room, or force them deeper and make room for those long-shot opportunities.
Despite a strong performance from Adarabioyo and a few others, especially in the first half, Chelsea fans left a lot to be desired. Marc Guiu, a man who failed to make his mark on the game, started in place of Nicolas Jackson.
Why Chelsea need to upgrade Guiu
Gui was awarded 4/10 match rating from GOAL In terms of his performance, he only touched the ball 11 times in the game and made 9 accurate passes.

Statistics confirm the fact that Guiu feels anonymous during the game, while Filip Jorgensen has more touch(29) than forward. As usual, the Spanish youngster trained hard and participated in various confrontations on the court, but unfortunately, he lost all four confrontations (on the ground and in the air).
Guiu did complete 100% of his passes (nine out of nine), but most of his passes were easily dealt with by Morecambe’s defensive unit. In this game, Gio has the opportunity to continue to get more Premier League substitute minutes, but the lack of involvement may actually lead to Maresca looking for another forward option.
While Guillou has shown signs of success so far in his short tenure at Chelsea, he is clearly a raw talent who will need time and time to develop, which could mean a loan would best suit his current development plans.
So, as has been hinted at for some time, the Blues need to acquire another forward option as an upgrade over Gyu to challenge Jackson.

Thankfully, at least, Gio’s woes were overshadowed by the brilliance of Tosin and his teammates, and the Blues ended up in the fourth round.
