Mike Vrabel in talks to become next Patriots head coach: report


New England Patriots in hiring talks Mike Vrabel According to the Boston Globe, he will become the team’s next head coach.

With former head coach Jerrold Mayo fired Sunday after just one season, Vrabel is the favorite to get the job.

Vrabel is a member of the following organizations patriots Inducted into the Hall of Fame for playing eight seasons with the team. He won three Super Bowls with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick during his career in New England from 2001-08.

Vrabel compiled a 54-45 record in six seasons as the Tennessee Titans’ head coach from 2018 to 2023, including three playoff appearances and one AFC Championship Game appearance.

Vrabel was fired by the Titans after the 2023 season before spending 2024 with the Cleveland Browns as a part-time coach and personnel consultant.

Vrabel is projected to be a top head coaching candidate in 2025. He also interviewed with the Jets and Bears.

The Patriots also interviewed Ben Johnson, Byron Leftwich and Pep Hamilton for their head coaching job.

Vrabel was born in Ohio and was an All-American during his stellar playing career. Ohio State Buckeyes mid-1990s.

Vrabel finished his career with 769 tackles, 57 sacks and 11 interceptions. He had a stellar 2007 season with the New England Patriots, earning All-Pro honors.

The Patriots are 8-26 over the past two seasons with Bill Belichick and Mayo as head coaches.
