Morocco holds mass protests in Gaza and the U.S. war against Israel | Donald Trump News

In one of the country’s largest demonstrations in months, protesters were filled with streets in the capital Rabat.

Thousands of Moroccans have taken to the streets to protest Israel’s punishment for Gaza and its people, which has also led to their anger at the United States and support for the 18-month war.

In one of the country’s largest demonstrations in months, protesters filled the capital Rabat area on Sunday, trampling on the Israeli flag, holding banners of the assassinated Hamas leaders and waving posters that combine displaced Palestinians with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Organizers condemned Israel’s military campaign, which killed more than 1,000 Palestinians and was displaced again as it undermined the ceasefire last month with dense air and ground attacks.

More than 50,700 Palestinians have been killed and more than 115,300 have been injured since the war began.

Morocco protests have conducted similar demonstrations in the Middle East and North Africa, in Tunisia, Yemen and Morocco’s economic hub Casablanca.

Anger with Washington has been in a sharp state, especially as Trump’s proposal to force the relocation of Palestinians, paving the way for Gaza’s reconstruction. The Arab state condemned the plan, which rights groups called ethnic cleansing. Protesters also condemned our crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism on university campuses.

“Gaza is being erased on the map”

Many Moroccans see Trump’s stance as a continuation of policies under his former former U.S. President Joe Biden.

“(Trump) makes the war worse,” Mohammed Toussi traveled from Casablanca with his family, talking to the Associated Press News Society.

He added: “Biden hides something, but Trump has shown everything.” His policies are different in tone, but not substantial.

Abdelhak El Arabi, an adviser to the former Conservative Prime Minister of Morocco, said public anger will only develop as the war goes.

“It’s not a war – Gaza is erasing the map,” the 62-year-old Tamesna resident told the Associated Press.

A wide coalition of groups joined the protests. Although Moroccan authorities tolerate most demonstrations, they arrested activists accused of targeting foreign embassies or linking criticism to the monarchy.

Many protesters were angry that Morocco’s 2020 decision to normalize ties with Israel, a move that sparked controversy at the time and continued to cause dissatisfaction.

Morocco signed Abraham AgreementIt is a foreign policy that first promoted the Trump administration, which is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Sudan normalized relations with Israel in exchange for various diplomatic and financial agreements.

However, like many Arab countries, public feeling about Israel is rarely reconciled in Morocco.
