MS Dhoni will once again wear the captain’s hat for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The former Indian captain will likely play against the Delhi Capitals at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday (April 5).
Senior Wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni competes to lead the team as regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is suspicious of the game. The right-handed batsman was hit by Tushar Deshpande in the last match against Rajasthan Royals and was doubtful about the upcoming match.
Although there are less than 24 hours left in the competition, there is still no clear meaning for Gaikwad’s fitness. CSK batting coach Mike Hussey has made the latest news on the captain, saying his involvement will depend on his recovery.

He also said Gaikwad is still not fully adapted and the team will make the final call after the online meeting on April 4 (April 4). Hussey also hinted that MS Dhoni may lead the team if Gaikwad can still play in the conflict.
“Ruturaj Gaikwad’s participation in tomorrow’s game will depend on how well he recovers. He’s still in pain and we’ll call on how he hits the ball in the Nets today. If he doesn’t play, he’s not sure who will lead who. But the young goalkeeper may fill the young goalkeeper.”
For CSK, the lack of Gaikwad will be a huge blow to struggle with the ongoing game so far. They only had one win in two games, third in the standings. They started their season with a victory over the Mumbai Indians before losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.
CSK’s hits weren’t impressive either, and the lack of Gaikwad would only make them worse. Gaikwad was CSK’s highest score last year and has also performed well this season. He has hit fifty-fifty in three innings.
MS Dhoni’s Legacy as Captain:
While the lack of Gaikwad will be a huge blow to CSK, fans will be happy to have MS Dhoni once again captained. The legendary ticket inspector resigned from Captain CSK before the start of last season.
He is one of the most decorated captains in IPL history. Under his captain, CSK won five titles, the last one. CSK lost the last two games and hopes Dhoni can coach them if he does lead the team.
