Chelsea Women have agreed a world record fee with San Diego Waves for defender Naomi Gilma.

The two clubs have agreed a deal worth around £890,000 ($1.1 million), breaking the current record of £695,000 ($860,000) set by Racheal Kundananji when he moved to Gulf FC from CFF Madrid.

The centre-back is expected to undergo a medical in London later this week.

Gilma reported for the first day of preseason in San Diego on Tuesday, but it appears to be her last training session with the club.
