NBA The New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks games were postponed Wednesday due to a historic snowstorm affecting the area.
The blizzard dropped about a foot of snow, making travel difficult as the typically warm city was unprepared for the elements.
Bucks Flying into town to beat the blizzard on Monday came a day earlier than the usual flight to the Pelicans game.

But temperatures remained in the 30s Wednesday, authorities closed many of the metro area’s major highways, and surface roads throughout towns remained covered in ice.
Schools and businesses remained closed across the region Wednesday, and Louis Armstrong International Airport canceled all commercial flights due to the weather. Taking these factors into account, the NBA postponed the game and has not yet determined a make-up date.

The Bucks’ next game is against miami heat Back in Milwaukee on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
After the game against the Heat, the Bucks will embark on a West Coast road trip starting Saturday and won’t have another home game until February 2.

On the other hand, the Pelicans were scheduled to play games on Friday and Saturday, making it difficult for the NBA to schedule postponed games as quickly as possible.
The Pelicans are 12-32 this season, the second-worst team in the Western Conference.
The Bucks have had more success than the Pelicans, currently sitting at 24-17 and ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference.
