With just 14 teams remaining at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, there are storylines everywhere – and Sky Sports NFL host Neil Reynolds picks his biggest picks heading into the playoffs Target……

This is truly the most wonderful time of the year in the NFL and the stakes couldn’t be higher – win and move on, lose and go home. It’s that simple.

Some of the most famous plays in history have been made in the playoffs, and legacies are built in the playoffs — look at Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes.

This is the moment when the stars shine, and this is the moment that really matters.

Here are five storylines I’m going to focus on…

This postseason is filled with game-winners who can take over a game on their own for one or two magical moments, either flipping the script or helping a favored team emerge victorious. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and even Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers and Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams had their days.

Of course, these quarterbacks can dictate what happens in the game. Even Jared Goff gets hot at times, although I think that’s more of a collective problem with the Detroit Lions.

Saquon Barkley can take over a game for the Philadelphia Eagles, Derrick Henry can take over a game for the Baltimore Ravens.

You’ll also see Justin Jefferson get hot and even TJ Watt lead the Pittsburgh Steelers defense out of trouble.

These are stars who can win games in their own right.

redeeming quarterback

Every playoff season features imaginative storylines that tug at your heartstrings. We have three quarterbacks who have completely rebuilt their careers after being waived by at least one team.

Jared Goff, who led the Lions to a 15-2 record – let’s face it, the Rams don’t want him anymore and I’m not sure the Lions really wanted him in the first place , that was salary dumping and a scramble for draft picks. Goff was outstanding.

Who would have thought Sam Darnold would lead the Minnesota Vikings to 14 wins in his fourth NFL team, and I think Baker Mayfield has shown that in his fourth Why he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft for the Cleveland Browns Mayfield performed so well that at times he led his team to victory.

If you love underdog stories and career-turnaround stories, you’ll be rooting for Goff, Darnold and Mayfield in the NFC.

Rookie coach ready to shine

It’s not just a veteran quarterback thing, there are several rookies here who have been dynamic and entertaining for much of the season.

Both quarterbacks are mirror images of each other, both mature, both have live arms, and both can hurt defenses with their legs. More importantly, they all brought hope to the entire city.

Washington was a struggling team that has turned into a 12-win team with the arrival of Jayden Daniels. Denver wasn’t supposed to make the playoffs this season, but they’ve won 10 games under Bonix.

These two quarterbacks may not go all the way this time around, but they will be in the playoff picture for many years to come.

When Sean McVay was hired as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams at age 31, the NFL began to emerge with a new crop of young head coaches, many of whom Outstanding performance in the league. Will Kansas City become the first team to win three consecutive championships? They look inevitable at times and I don’t think they’re going to go quietly in the AFC Champions League.

Will this be the first time Buffalo, Detroit or Minnesota win the Super Bowl? These teams have passionate fan bases that aren’t willing to dare to dream until they’re standing under the confetti at the Louisiana Superdome.

This is a wide-open Super Bowl race. The AFC is pretty top-heavy with Kansas City, Buffalo, and Baltimore, but keep an eye on the Los Angeles Chargers as well. In the NFC, I think it’s a game between Detroit and Philadelphia.

It’s going to be fantastic, some games and moments we’ll all be talking about for years to come, and a champion will be crowned – I can’t wait! Enjoy the playoffs with every game live on Sky Sports.

When is the Super Bowl held?

Wild Card Weekend will take place from Saturday, January 11 to Monday, January 13, with the playoffs heading into the divisional round on Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, where the respective No. 1 seeds will receive a bye. Participate in competitions.

Next up are the AFC and NFC championship games on Sunday, January 26, followed by Super Bowl LIX on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
