Nippon Steel and US Steel are suing the Biden administration, USW and Cleveland-Cliffs over the blocked merger deal

US Steel and Nippon Steel have filed lawsuits in Washington to try to overturn the Biden administration’s decision last week to block their planned merger. In a harsh statement, the steel workers accused the outgoing president of taking the move for political gain. They also sued USW and Cleveland-Cliffs for colluding to break the deal to try to monopolize the US steel industry. In addition, a 276 kg bluefin tuna fetched €1.2 million at a New Year’s auction in Japan.
