Nobody has any idea if Apple’s revamped carplay will come to new cars

Apple is no longer promising a 2024 launch date for the revamped carplay. This is good news, considering that we are now in 2025. However, it also presents a problem for many iPhone users, who were promised updated car software almost three years ago.

Apple took the set date for the new carplay from Official Landing Page. The website still praises all the features that are coming and the car companies that signed the software, but otherwise, there is no indication of when it can be expected. Macrumors reached out to Apple to ask what was going on. The company responded that it is working “closely with many automakers, allowing them to showcase their unique brand and visual design philosophies in the next generation of Carplay.” Apple also put an announcement to car manufacturers by adding that each brand it works with “will have additional specifications to support their models that will support the next generation of Carplay.”

The United States is a country that relies on car culture, so the operating system running in your car is as important as the smartphone in your hand. It’s frustrating for iOS users who are waiting for Apple’s answer on android automatically. Brands like Volvo, Renault, Ford, Gm, and BMW have all signed up for this deep version of Car OS in Car. It can control everything from the venting system to car locks while keeping Google’s front-end services in the Dash.

Apple’s Carplay has changed its display in 2022, promising the same kind of interwoven but for iPhone users, things like an information dashboard with radio controls and radio and temperature. Major automakers like Porsche and Aston Martin have signed on but have yet to debut anything from the partnership.

No one knows whether Apple or the shipments are to blame for the delay. Apple may be behind schedule because it tends to hold off on launching products until they are live for sale. As they wait, carmakers adopt any Wespoke or Google software to provide a similar experience for drivers.

I still think the car has too many screens and not enough buttons, especially if you go by the promotional photo on Apple’s website. ANDROID AURAWA SA AUDROURIVA works like Polestar and Hyundai cars. It’s all a cacophony of screens that present all the information that your phone usually hides so you don’t get distracted while driving. But not this time. At this time, it is full steam ahead with all the information you may need at all times. Happy Driving!
