“He walked away and said, ‘What the hell,’ and started laughing,” Sawyer told ESPN.
“That’s my kid. Obviously, we were roommates when he was here. He and the rest of the Texans have a lot of respect.”
The Longhorns had a chance to tie the game, but then the nightmare ensued. After being blocked at the goal line, Quintrevion Wisner gave Texas trouble for a loss of 7 yards on his second pass. The third pass was incomplete. Sawyer’s tackle and score occurred on fourth down.
Hoping for a miracle, Ewers threw a pick on the next drive and just like that, it was over.
Before the game, Ewers hinted that he expected to play in the NFL next season. So it will be interesting to see if his plans change.

Now, the eighth-seeded Buckeyes will face Notre Dame 7 National Championships on January 20th. Despite Ohio State’s lower seed, sportsbooks still have the Buckeyes as touchdown favorites.
