Palestinian authorities say a Palestinian-American teenager was shot dead by Israeli Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian officials identified the 14-year-old as Omar Mohammed Rabea and said he approached the settlement in Turmus Aya when settlers opened fire.

Since the beginning of Israel’s war in Gaza, settlers’ violence, invasions, attacks and sharp rise in property against Palestinians. Israeli troops also carried out continuous attacks on the territories of various towns.

The town mayor Adeeb Lafi said Rabea shot and killed two other teenagers along with settlers.

Palestinian officials condemned the shooting. “This is another example of violence against Palestinians by impunity Israeli settlers,” an official said.

The victim’s family has not issued a public statement, but they express grief over their losses.

Israeli forces have investigated the murder but have no immediate comment. Israeli troops and settlers are not worried about the judicial impacts in the Palestinian region in most cases.

Witnesses said that in 2024, Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was shot dead by Israeli soldiers while protesting against illegal Israeli settlements.

Shireen Abu Akleh, an American American journalist at Al Jazeera, was also killed by the Israeli military when he reported in the occupied West Bank in 2022, although clearly identified as a member of the press.
