Getting some fluency in your inning is getting harder and harder – Pat Cummins
The first shot in the game, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s first duo failed again, and the rest of the batsmen were unable to make big knocks. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen and Pat Cummins fought some battles and brought the total of SRH to 152/8.
To defend the score, Mohammed Shami dismissed Sai Sudharsan in the third inning, while Cummins cleaned up Jos Buttler in fourth place, giving the GT a reel rate of 2/16. But Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar had a good partnership at the time, and the GT finished the run in 16.4 races.
After the game, the disappointing Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain Pat Cummins said the court of the SRH VS GT game was not a traditional Hyderabad surface because it was slow and it was getting harder to hit the ball. He further said that they wanted to get some early wickets in the power game to stay in the game
“Well, this is not the traditional Hyderabad wicket. It’s getting some fluency in your innings getting harder. We want to have some early wickets in the power game and stay in the game.”
Ticket gate spins less than we thought – Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins also said that the stadium was not changing as much as they expected and complained about the dew factor.
“The wicket is not as much as we thought. A little dew obviously didn’t help us,” Cummins said.
Talk about the Impact Sub option, Pat Cummins revealed that they kept Simarjeet Singh and Rahul Chahar on standby in both ideas, but then decided to go with the Pacers. He said:
“(on the impact) No, we were actually two ideas, whether to go Chahar or simarjeet. Actually, in the first inning, we saw the speed bowler get more help from the surface, so we chose Simarjeet.”
How does SRH perform in previously completed IPL matching?
The previous IPL match between SRH and GT was washed. Speaking of their last match, Hyderabad had a frustrating outing in Ahmedabad as they faced a seven-goal defeat to the Gujarat Titans.
First hitting the ball, SRH made a nice start with Travis Head (14% off) and Mayank Agarwal (17% off) but neither of them could convert their starts. Abhishek Sharma’s Quickfire 29 folds 20, while the late boom of Abdul Samad (29% off 14 points) gave the situation a driving force, but any scores of top and middle order lacked big scores as it ended with a score of 162/8.
Defending the score, the SRH bowler can’t do enough to stop the GT from chasing. Although Pat Cummins got the wickets from Sai Sudharsan and Shahbaz Ahmed, they removed Wriddhiman Saha, but they are still trying to put pressure on the GT.
SRH also managed to pick the Shubman Gill’s wicket, but the under-standard bowling performance allowed the GT to complete the run at 19.1 points.
