Plymouth have appointed Myron Muslic as the club’s new head coach, replacing Wayne Rooney.
The 42-year-old former Club Brugge boss has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal to replace Rooney, who left the club on New Year’s Eve.
Muslic was fired by Club Brugge in December last year when the team performed poorly in the Belgian Professional League, but he led the team to the division league group stage.
The Austrian coach will be in the stands to watch his new side take on Brentford in Saturday’s FA Cup tie before turning his attention to Championship relegation.
Argyle are bottom of the table, three points shy of safety.
Chairman Simon Hallett told Plymouth.com: “Milon has a clear vision of how to take Argyle forward and has shown a deep tactical awareness which is a clear indication of how he wants the team to be built and played.
“He received rave reviews for his time at Club Brugge, taking a team from the bottom of the league into European football, which is no mean feat.
“I would like to welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him make an immediate impact.”
