The incident occurred when Ashwin, who is very active on social media platform X after his retirement, received a comment on one of his posts which read: “Australia think they can sweep us,” Account with username @西沙018 commented. However, since the account used Ritika’s name and photo, Ashwin assumed that this was indeed Rohit’s wife and immediately responded to the comment.
“Hi Ritika, how are you? Say hello to the little one and family,” Ashwin replied to the impersonator’s post. The user continued to use Ritika and enjoyed the attention Ashwin received online after replying. “I’m fine, Ashwin Anna,” It replied. However, at that time Ashwin realized that it was a fake account and deleted the entire conversation.
