Ravindra Jadeja to face Rishabh Pant in Ranji Trophy

Ravindra Jadeja will take on Rishabh Pant, who has also been confirmed to represent Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. The wicketkeeper-batsman will be led by Ayush Badoni. This in itself makes the second round of the Ranji Trophy fascinating as two of India’s best players will face off against each other.

Indian national cricket team players have returned to domestic cricket after the BCCI laid down strict guidelines. Every player needs to play domestic matches, otherwise they will also face the consequences of IPL salary cuts and sanctions.

Ravindra Jadeja performed brilliantly in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Jadeja will come into the tournament having performed well in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The all-rounder did not feature in the first few games of the series but returned to the starting XI for the final three games at the Gabba, Melbourne and Sydney.

Jadeja performed well with the bat and ball, but he was not consistent. His contribution was not enough and the Indian national cricket team ended up losing the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy by a margin of 1-3 and also failed to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship.

Jadeja played a heroic innings at the Gabba, hitting a brilliant half-century to level the match. However, in the last two games, he has failed to light up the stage with the bat. The all-rounder also picked 4 wickets in the series at an average of 54.

Ravindra Jadeja and some of the senior players of the team have been under a lot of spotlight recently for their poor form. There is no doubt that the all-rounder is an important part of the team and participating in the Ranji Trophy will definitely help him regain his confidence and get back into rhythm.

He has also been named in the Indian team for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The competition will begin on February 19th and the finals will be held on March 9th. He will be a key member of the team and hopefully help his team win.
