None of this will go since the last few games – Ruturaj Gaikwad
CSK was invited to compete in the bowl first in the race, and they couldn’t do well, allowing DC to ride a total of 183/6 on the stunning 77 run 77 pole knock at KL Rahul. For the host, Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja, Noor Ahmad and Matheesha Pathirana held one.
CSK’s top batsman chased the target and failed again, with the only combat knock from Vijay Shankar’s bat, who scored 69 times. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten in 30*, but CSK ended with a 158/5 mark in 20 points.
After the race, CSK Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said they were working on improving but things didn’t go. He said:
“Nothing this has gone forward since the last few games. We are working hard to improve, do our best, but not move forward. We have definitely lost too many wickets.”
Ruturaj Gaikwad further stated that the poor performance of powerful playback has been their main problem. He said:
“(PowerPlay) is a major issue even in the bowling department. We are paying 15-20 runs or losing too many wickets. We are trying, but that doesn’t happen.”
Everyone needs to get together to make things happen – ruturaj gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad also said that if they want to go back to the winning way, they are a little overdone and need to be positive. He further asked MS Dhoni and his other teammates to unite to make things happen. He said:
“(In the team’s dilemma) I just think we’re a little concerned or bowling for the moment. And, with the bats, obviously you don’t want to lose an extra wicket, but it’s just to stay positive. I think it’s about stepping on the feet, not on the toes.
While talking about lack of intention, Ruturaj Gaikwad said they are playing catch-up games since the power game. He said:
“We’ve been playing catch-up since (about the lack of intention today). We’ve been lagging too far behind and there’s only one batsman left. DC played well and used the conditions well. Even when Shivam (Dube) hit the ball, we were still looking for motivation, but that didn’t happen.”
How does CSK perform in previous IPL matching vs. DC?
