The way we started in the power game, we thought our run was a little short – Sanju samson
Rajasthan Royals (RR) hit the ball for the first time in the game, thanks to the sensational batting performances such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag.
Defending the total, Jofra Archer gave his team a great start, picking two wickets in the first game. From then on, the RR bowler kept PBK’s pressure at 155/9 in 20 points.
Sanju Samson said in a post-match speech that they had a good result on the board and praised his young batting unit. He said:
“The way we started in a power game, we thought our running was short, but the quality of the batsmen we got, 205 was a good score on the board. Very young hitting lineup, very young, but they played a lot of games for the country. They were managing and playing the game.”
A 150-year-old guy bowling, a guy at 115-Sanju Samson laughs and laughs at Sandeep Sharma
Sanju Samson marked the Pace-Bowling duo of Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma as a deadly combo, but also made a cheeky dig at Sandeep’s inability to bowl quickly. He explained in detail:
“(on Archer and Sandeep) It’s a very deadly combination, a 150-year-old guy bowling, and a 115-year-old guy.
Sanju Samson further stated that even after picking a quick wicket, they would not take any action easily, as the Punjab king is a kind of opposition in quality. He said:
“We did have a small meeting at the timeout meeting and I suggest they are a quality side that we can’t be easy. Until the last ball is played well, we can’t guarantee victory. We focus on the process and we will take care of ourselves. We took some time to figure out the best combination and the roster and commands, what our injuries are, we have to take care of this long game because it’s a long game.”
How does RR perform for PBK in previous IPL matching?
Rajasthan Royals (RR) lost five goals in the previous Indian Premier League match in Guwahati. RR chose to hit the ball first, and had long lost Yashasvi Jaiswal when Sam Curran cleaned up. When Sanju Samson and Tom Kohler-Cadmore tried to rebuild, they struggled on a slow court, each falling 18.
Young batsman Riyan Parag performed best with the Bats’ excellent RR, scoring 48 with a 48, while Ravicandran Ashwin’s 28-shot knock gave the team some motivation. However, the batting collapse means the royals rise from 92/3 to 144/9, with PBKS bowlers dominating the game.
Defending the score, RR starts well. Boult fired Prabhsimran Singh early, and Avesh Khan’s double hit was 36/3. They chose more quick wickets, while PBK was reduced to 111/5. However, Sam Curran put pressure on RR and beat the game with his unbeaten 63 knock as the run finished with 18.5 points.
