Schedule, lineup, format and live broadcast

The countdown to the 2025 Women’s Ashes is finally over. The England women’s team are on a mission to end Australia’s 12-year wait for the Ashes trophy. The multi-format series kicks off on January 12

2025 Women’s Ashes Format

The 2025 Women’s Ashes will take on a new format. A one-off Test match will conclude the entire series rather than the opener. The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the final game of the series. This will be the first women’s Test to be played at the MCG since 1949.

The test will last four days, day and night, presenting unique lighting challenges for both teams. It also celebrates the 90th anniversary of the first women’s Test match, making it a historic moment in many ways.

The 2025 Women’s Ashes will follow the same points system as before. Test matches are worth four points, while every win in T20Is and ODIs is worth two points. Nine points is the magic number to take home the Ashes. What if it ends up being a draw? Australia retained the trophy.
