Rangers fail to build on their impressive Old Firm win, Hibs’ impressive form continues, Aberdeen’s woes continue and St Johnstone’s survival hopes continue Hit again.
Rangers’ inconsistency keeps Hibs unbeaten
After a 3-0 win over Celtic, Rangers’ struggling away form once again proved costly as they had to settle for Easter Road draw.
Philippe Clement stuck with the same starting XI as the Old Firm but they failed to reach the heights they achieved against Ibrox three days ago and have dropped points in seven of their 10 away league games this season.
The highlight for Ibrox was Hamza Igamane and his hat-trick but they missed a number of chances to win and put some pressure on Celtic in the title race .
Hibs struggled early on but their resilience showed again, coming from behind twice to score a point to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
David Gray’s side moved 10 points back from defeat in the Premier League this season and Rocky Bushiri’s header showed the players now have the fight they seemed to lack just a few months ago.
Both sides of Aberdeen
Despite Aberdeen’s impressive start to the season, They are equally miserable now They have not won their last 10 games.
While Jimmy Thelling admits Don have “issues that need to be sorted out”, he still believes their current form can be turned around and given they were on an 11-game unbeaten run earlier in the season, you do feel like a win Will come again soon.
They struggled in the first half against Motherwell, with Slobodan Rubicic being sent off clearly out of frustration, but they did look brighter after the break.
Leighton Clarkson’s last game saw the midfielder hit the crossbar.
Can St Johnstone recover from adrift?
No win in the quarterfinals St Johnstone are now eight points adrift of the bottom of the Scottish Premiership and still a long way from falling behind.
With them trailing Dundee 3-0 just before the half-hour mark on Sunday, it’s clear Seamus Varakari needs to be allowed to strengthen his squad this month.
Defenders need to be a priority. They have conceded 19 first-half goals in 22 Premier League games this season, the worst record in the league.
Kyle Cameron and Lewis Nelson have been recalled from Notts County and Hearts, meaning they will need to add players if they are to survive another season in the top flight.
What else have we learned?
Celtic’s unbeaten run came to an abrupt end at Ibrox but it proved to be a one-off as they bounced back and dominated against St Mirren.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are 13 points clear in the title race 3-0 win over St Mirren He had little to offer at Parkhead.
Hearts have shown improvement since their derby defeat to Hibs, winning back-to-back games in 2025 to 1-0 win over Dundee United.
Jim Goodwin’s side struggled, failing to secure a fourth consecutive win to consolidate third place.
With only 3 points separating 11th and 7th in the league, Ross County’s crucial 1-0 win saw them leapfrog rivals Kilmarnock into 9th place.
