“Sign tonight or Lose”: Thurman’s Active Contract Requires Tim

Keith Thurman went on social media today, urging Tim Tszyu to sign him a contract for his next fight. He hopes to send it tonight so he can sign it.

Tonight’s strategy

There is a strategy behind this move. The 36-year-old cunning “one-off” Thurman forced Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOS) to fight, and he could then go in the other direction towards a more profitable game against Sebastian Fundora or Errol Spence. Keith is using the tricks of an old salesman, hoping Tim is easily deceived.

Tszyu should wait until he and his team see the best deal. Fighting Thurman won’t do much for Tim’s legacy. He would be better at fighting Fundora’s losses or a bigger battle against the more popular Error Spence.

Thurman never got the kind of fame he could get, as he became a part-time fighter after his tough battle with Danny Garcia in 2017. Thurman is second only to four times since the last eight years of fighting. That’s sad.

If Tszyu goes in the other direction, Thurman will be forced to wait, get older, sit on the shelf until he is free. If Tim participates in this battle next, he will most likely lose to Fundora, thus providing Thurman with a longer wait time. With Keith as the reality of inactivity and aging, he couldn’t afford to wait.

Last Saturday, former WBO junior middleweight champion Tszyu eliminated Joey Spencer (19-2, 11 KOS) in the fourth round at Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia. The fight was designed as a pickup for Tim, who improved his confidence after he beat IBF 154-pound champion Bakhram Murtazaliev on Oct. 19 in Orlando, Florida.

Tszyu didn’t know what he would enter when he participated in this battle, and it was too late to find out what he was facing. After the first knockout in the second round, the battle was basically over. Tszyu never recovered from Murtazaliev’s left hook that dropped him in that round. He beat Tim three times before the battle stopped in the third round.

Contract Trap

“Congratulations, Tim Tszyu. I saw you and that appetizer ended. I’m with me (Broke Jarvis). I kicked him out at three points.” Social MediaA message was sent to Tim Tszyu after defeating Joey Spencer in Australia last Saturday night.

“I don’t know you, boy, but I’m still hungry. Send the contract. Send the contract. I sign the contract tonight. I promise you I’ll come to Australia and give you a good fight. Let’s go away,” Thurman said.
