Suryakumar Yadav joined a special player club on Friday (April 5) to play 100 IPL games for the Mumbai Indians. Indian T20i captain achieved a feat in the Mumbai Indians’ match against the Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Suryakumar Yadav started his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians in 2012. However, he could only play one game for the team that season. He did not play any games in the 2013 IPL before being purchased by the Kolkata Knight Rider.
The right-handed batsman offered a deal for Kolkata-based clothing until 2017. During his time at KKR, Suryakumar Yadav participated in 54 races and won over 500 runs.

In 2018, he returned to the Mumbai Indians and never looked back ever since. In his first season in Mumbai, he scored more than 500 runs in one season for the first time in his IPL career.
Suryakumar Yadav quickly became one of the best batsmen in the IPL and has been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians ever since. He also won the IPL with the franchise in 2019 and 2020. He enjoyed his most season in the IPL in 2023, when he performed 605 runs with the help of a century and fifties.

Suryakumar Yadav is the eighth player to play at least 100 games for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Before him, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Ambati Rayudu and current captain Hardik Pandya played 100 games for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
When Suryakumar Yadav was preparing to compete for his 100th IPL match, he received Pollard’s special jersey. The former Mumbai Indian Almighty wrote the batsman jersey with 100 and “Surya Dada”.

Suryakumar will seek to make this moment even more special by making an influential knock with bats. The Mumbai Indians have not started their good performance this season and are looking to win the game against Lucknow. They lost the first two games and then beat the Kolkata Knight Riders to open an account in IPL 2025.
