‘Syrian above all else’: Alawite community refuses to pay for Assad’s crimes




A month after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Syria’s Alawite minority, which served as the backbone of the regime, fears a witch hunt. In their stronghold of Tartus, community members say they too suffered under the bloody tyranny of the former dictator.
