Tank Davis’ Teofimo Lopez impersonation of ‘Squidward’ falls out of favor

Gervonta “The Tank” Davis mocked Teofimo Lopez’s skit on Friday. Teofimo plays a street bum on the sidewalk, holding a begging cup and trying to ask for money from people passing by. He wanted to terminate his contract with Top Rank because he felt he wasn’t making as much money as he deserved.

Davis showed an old post from Lopez saying he would be the “highest paid” fighter in the lightweight division. That never happened. He’s moved out of the heavyweight division, and at 140 pounds he’s not making as much money as Tank and Ryan Garcia.

Teofimo looked miserable because he wanted to leave Top Rank because he thought he could make more money competing with another promoter.

Teofimo was defeated by George Kambosos, who was involved in two controversial matches where many fans felt he should have lost and that he looked terrible. Lopez is now trying to get out of his contract with Top Rank, join the ring, fight on a Riyadh card with other promoters and make big money.

Changing promoters may not help Teofimo. His main problem is that he lacks the talent and mental toughness to beat the best. The loss to Kambosos proved Lopez’s inability to handle things under pressure.

Lopez’s fights against Jermaine Ortiz, Xander Martin and Steve Cratchit have further reinforced the belief that he doesn’t have the ability to fight at a high level. In the eyes of the fans, he should have lost to Jermaine and Sandel.

Ryan’s net worth is US$50 millionand he never won a world title. Tanks also make a lot of money. It looks like Teofimo will never get the money that Davis and Garcia do. His career has not been stable enough since 2021, and his performance has become worse and worse.

“I have a video of him on my phone saying he’s going to be the highest paid 135 pounder. He’s just talking about his a**. It’s crazy how things are going, his ass is starting to look like light-skinned Squidward ” Gervonta Davis said on social media, reacting to a sketch of Teofimo Lopez holding a sign and cup on the sidewalk begging for money.
