The Washington City Police Department said Abigael Paige Flanagan, 17, and Mihaela Gabriela Sorescu, 16, were charged with murdering Andreea Mottram, 47. Flanagan is also named after “Jay” and Sorescu is also named after “Bella”, police said.

Investigators also found several knives inside the house, including one in a sink washed away but with “traces of blood.”

Detective wrote that a pair of pants were also found at home, with blood and “bloody imprints of blades” on both legs, and because of the size of the pants, it is believed to belong to Sorescu.

Sorescu is Mottram’s adopted daughter Fox 13 for the first time.

Mottram went to Utah with Flanagan a few days before his death to visit her daughter, who had been at a residential treatment facility in Washington County for the past three years, according to court documents.

Flanagan was previously in a facility but was recently taken away by her parents.

Sorescu’s father told police that he found his daughter’s diary, who wrote “she hated her mother and wrote that she wanted to kill her.”

Mottram posted a selfie on her Facebook page the day before she discovered her body, titled “This is…almost 48.”

She also posted: “The trouble is, you think you have time”, four days before her selfie.

“The concerns about both suspects are a key step in the investigation,” the Washington City Police Department said. “But the investigation team is currently following up on many aspects of the case. Again, we pay tribute to the families and friends of the victims of this meaningless violence.”

Sorescu and Flanagan were held at the Dixie Regional Detention Center in Washington County.
