Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines, provided an update on Flight 5342 before leaving for Washington, DC, early Thursday morning.
According to the Federal Avoid Administration (FAA), a regional jet of PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 collided with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while in focus on track 33 at Reagan National Airport (DCA) toward 9 pm.

Isom says the plane was operated by PSA Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines, And he started from Wichita, Kansas. He continued to express his concern about the events that take place and that the company now focuses on the needs of those involved, the first who respond and their loved ones.
“”Flight 5342 It was under the command of 4 crew members and carried 60 passengers for a total of 64 people on board. We are actively working with local state and federal authorities on emergency response efforts and the American Airlines Care team has been activated to help our passengers and their families, “said Isom.

He also said that he knows that there are many questions and that although they cannot answer them at this time, they are working to answer these questions and will continue to provide updates. He said it is important that they report accurate information because they owe it to all those involved.
“We are fully collaborating with the National Transport Safety Board in your research and we will continue to provide all the information we can. Our cooperation is without pause and we want to learn everything we can about current events. This work will need time, But whatever we can do now, we do it right now, this means to focus on taking care of all the passengers and the crew involved, as well as their families.

PSA operated as a flight 5342 for American Airlines, and turned away from Wichita, Kansas. There was no immediate word about the victims or the cause of the collision.
