The new ending for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finally shedding light on Jude Law’s mysterious Force user, Jod Nawood. Growing up as a poor child, he was taken in by a Jedi and trained in the ways of the Force. He’s been running since he watched her die, and it turns out we’ll see him during the sequence.

on Instagramactor Yasmine Al Massri (whom you heard as Morana in Castlevania) posted photos of himself as Jod’s master, in Jedi clothes and doing some brief lightsaber training that he likely fought before his death. According to him, it was the “shortest active job I’ve ever done,” but it was still affecting: after his one scene wrapped in production, he remembers saying to Skeleton Crew team they “just made the first Arab woman Jedi.” To Massri’s dismay, the scene was not part of Skeleton Crew finale, but he took it slow. “These things happen,” he continued. “This is the most meaningful (job) of the child to me. (…) I cannot share my experience and feelings.”

Now that Jod is officially confirmed to be a Jedi-in-training and to have had a master at some point in his life, it raises some questions. Who among them survived Order 66, or could they both have escaped the Jedi Purge? Also, who is the he—neither Skeleton Crews finale or Massri’s post name the character, and it seems he should have one. If the show is taken another seasonmaybe we’ll learn more about her and Jod’s relationship, and how she grew from Jedi survivor to pirate with multiple false identities.
