The Massive Saga of Macross Finally Hits Disney+ and Hulu Next Week

Last year, Macross should land on Disney+ as part of an effort to bring the franchise outside of Japan, especially in the west. At the time, it was a big deal ever the different companies to control it and its western equivalent Robotech reached an agreement after they spent years not on the best of terms. For whatever reason, the jump to Disney + does not seem to happen in 2024 as planned, but it seems that it really happened in the next few days.

According to a tip given by Anime News Network16 out of 18 Macross The anime shows and movies will hit Disney+ and Hulu in the US on Monday, January 13. It seems that the franchise’s weird issues here in the west have never been resolved: when Macross came, ni Super Dimension Fortress Macross and its film version, Do You Remember Love?, it’s on Disney+ or Hulu. They are two important parts of the whole business, but Harmony Gold’s hold on the license prevents those from being streamed worldwide outside of Japan.

It may not be complete, but it’s still not a bad amount of Macross things that come in services. Like last year, we hope that things will work where both versions of Super Dimension join the rest of their animated siblings, and the entire franchise can be watched all in one place.
