The moment an Olympic athlete saves a drowning woman with a kitesurf

Video shows the moment Olympic kitesurfer Bruno Lobo rescued a woman who appeared to be drowning at sea.

The athlete was practicing with his new camera while kitesurfing off the coast of San Luis, Brazil, when he heard someone screaming.

Lobo, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, lifted the woman onto his back and carried her to shore with a kite.

The woman appeared to meet friends on the shoreline and then walked off the beach. “I just did my job” and was “in the right place at the right time,” Lobo said in a selfie video on Instagram.

The athlete said he wanted to use the opportunity to warn people on social media that “the sea is really dangerous” and that “the tide can pull you under.”
