The United States has sanctioned the leader of the Sudan Rapid Support Force




The United States announced sanctions against Sudanese paramilitary leader Mohamed Hamdane Dagl, also known as Hemedti, on Tuesday evening. Washington accuses the head of the Rapid Support Force of committing genocide in Sudan. The country’s civil war, which broke out in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF, threw Sudan into turmoil, displacing millions and causing severe famine.
