The US is increasing sanctions against Russia in an attempt to give Ukraine leverage over Trump




The US on Friday imposed a series of new sanctions on Russian oil and gas that could cost the country billions of dollars a month, aimed at reducing Russia’s revenue to finance the ongoing war in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the action, which should improve the prospects for reaching a peace agreement.
