Tim David switches to Mumbai Gene; open challenger Phil Salt, Virat Kohli vs Jasprit Bumrah

The wait is finally over as both Jasprit Bumrah will make a comeback against Mumbai Indians at the Royal Challenger Bengaluru on Monday, April 7 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Nearly four months after Australia’s test, Pace Ace is back and ready to mark the Royal Challenger Bengaluru in IPL 2025 Clash. Jasprit Bumrah wasted no time after joining the Mumbai Indian camp on Saturday night and hit the Nets on Sunday.

The five-time champions are now using their key weapon, Jasprit Bumrah, to help them make a thunderous comeback in the game as they are currently struggling at the eighth place on the IPL 2025 point table, with only one win in just four games so far.

On the other hand, the RCB camp was busy with strategy while preparing to face the storm in Boomla. Shared MI locker room with Pacer last season, RCB’s big hit, Tim David, knowing Bumrah’s deadly skill, has set the tone. David urged Virat Kohli and Phil Salt to chase Bumrah early and stagger early.

Tim David said in a pre-match press conference: “Yes, Bumrah is widely regarded as the best bowler, and that’s the challenge we want to face on the RCB. If we are going to play this game, we need to beat the best team; we need to beat the best players.

So hopefully Jasprit Bumrah will bowl tomorrow night, the first ball from the guy who opened the batting for us is 4 or 6. That would be a statement. It would be great to get him back to the game because he did better in the game. ”

I just tried to figure out the toes: Tim David

David said he was ready to face top bowling in the ongoing IPL 2025, but when Mumbai and Bengaluru faced each other against Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium, he would carefully move his toes away to avoid Bumrah’s deadly Yorker.

Tim signing said: “I just tried to get my toes out; his Yorker is very deadly. He is a great bowler and when you feel the best when you are against the best team against the best players, they are the best feeling you feel as a player. So you want to be challenged the best and I look forward to that.”

It is worth noting that RCB has lost only one of three games in the ongoing IPL 2025 so far, and they are currently in third place with a quarter-pointer. Now, they want to return to the road to victory after being defeated by eight wickets by the Gujarat Giants in the last match of the tournament.
