tottenham hotspur The last few weeks have been a struggle for any good form. Angie Postkoglu‘s side is currently in trouble 15th in Premier League standingsand are just eight points away from the relegation zone. While that seems like a sizable gap, their current form doesn’t look like it’s going to get better anytime soon.
Spurs have lost four of their last five top-flight games and drawn the other one. They have lost 12 games in the Premier League this season and although the injury crisis is affecting their form, the Lilywhites’ performances have not been good enough.
With that in mind, it’s perhaps no surprise that the north Londoners are exploring some late moves in the transfer market, including a player who could provide attacking reinforcements.
Tottenham target new attacker
The player in question here is Ajax and Netherlands international Brian Brombie. The Dutchman has shown flashes of his talent this season but despite inconsistent performances he remains a target for other clubs.
According to reporter Fabrizio Romanothe Lilywhites have contacted Ajax to discuss a potential transfer for Brobbie. They have already made “inquiries” about his situation if there is a possibility of a transfer.
However, they are not the only London Premier League side interested in a move for the Dutchman. West Ham United are “already in direct talks with Ajax” over a possible loan transfer and have an obligation to buy the player. Tottenham are also considering a loan move.
Why Brobbie would be a good signing
It’s been a somewhat up-and-down season for 22-year-old forward Brobbie. He has struggled to find his groove in front of goal and has only scored three times, but does have seven assists in all competitions in 29 games.
However, the Netherlands international also showed his composure at times. His goal against PEC Zwolle was a prime example of this, as he showed great instincts to collect a deflected cross inside the six-yard box to give Ajax the lead they went on to win 2-0.
Despite Brombie’s poor performance this term, The 2023/24 campaign heats up. He made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists, including 18 goals and 10 assists in the Eredivisie.
In the Eredivisie last season, Brobbie’s basic statistics were excellent. According to Sofascorehe had a conversion rate of 21%, created 10 great chances, and won 5.1 duels per game.

If Tottenham succeed in signing Brobbie, he could form an exciting partnership with the Swedish striker Dejan Kulusevski. Earlier in the 2024/25 season, former Lilywhites midfielder and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp claimed Kulusevski “Is Tottenham’s best player this season“.
In fact, the 24-year-old has been outstanding in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and 8 assists in 34 games in all competitions.
Perhaps the Tottenham number 21’s best contribution this season came in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup against Manchester City, where he assisted two goals to help the team win 2-1.
If the Lilywhites can get Brobie back to the form he had last season, Kulusevski could be in for a good game. According to FBrefhe averaged 2.74 key passes and 8 assists per game, the most among other Spurs players.
It seems like this might be a match made in heaven. Brobbie is not only an excellent all-round forward, but also a “prolific” player As football talent scout Jacek Kulig describes it. He might be the ideal guy to take advantage of Kulusevski’s opportunity.
On a loan deal, this appears to be a safe move for the Lilywhites as Brombie can add goals to their squad and get the most out of their main creator.
