However, recent comments from Bangladesh executive vice president Katie Blackburn at the league’s annual meeting did not prove Tobin’s speech. Blackburn’s words prompted a frustrated Hendrickson to call the organization because of a clear lack of communication in recent months.

Hendrickson added that negotiations with the Bengals were largely “all over the place.”
Hendrickson has finished each season with 17.5 sacks over the past two seasons. Compared to his peers, he estimates that his base salary will just exceed $15 million next season. “I think he (Hendrickson) should be happy at a certain rate, maybe he doesn’t think he’ll be happy,” Black said Tuesday. “I think there are people who want to be happy at some point, and if he doesn’t know, that’s why they sometimes stick with it. So, you know, he’s going to say “yes” to something. And, we’re also a great player for him. He’s a great player. We’re so happy to have him.
Despite the latest incidents, Hendrickson said the “communication line” is still at his end.
“They are very welcome to call me,” Hendrickson said. “I have cell phones since high school and the same number. Open communication is always open with me and my agent. So if they have any ideas, what they want to discuss, we get nothing and are willing to listen.”

Hendrickson made it clear that he was looking for a long-term contract, not a short-term contract.
“We don’t want to get the highest salary, or line up first, first,” he said. “I won’t go into all the details in detail, but, like what I’m willing to do, willing or not. I don’t think I want to work on incentives that I can’t control. I want to play in a short-term contract (I don’t want to be here). … I want to tell my wife, ‘This is where we’re going to live. We’re going to build a family here. You know?”
