OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday said U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s talk of possible annexation by Canada was a tactic designed to distract people from the impact of his proposed tariffs. .

Trudeau told CNN that if Trump follows through on a promise to impose 25% on all imports from Canada, “everything American consumers buy from Canada will suddenly become more expensive” .
