Trump administration plans to arrest illegal immigrants nationwide on “Day One”

wall street journal Reports say the government plans to conduct large-scale raids in Chicago on Tuesday, specifically targeting those with criminal backgrounds.

Fox News’ Jesse Waters asked incoming border czar Tom Homan about media coverage of Tuesday’s “massive raid” in Chicago, but Homan said ICE will be working across the country.

Democratic senators asked how Noem would work with Homan: “Who’s in charge?”

“There’s going to be a massive raid across the country. Chicago is just one of many locations. We have 24 field offices across the country. On Tuesday, ICE is finally going to go out and do their job. We’re going to dismantle ICE handcuffs and let them arrest criminal aliens, that’s what’s going to happen,” he said.

“We told ICE you will enforce immigration laws without apology. You will focus on the most serious issues first, on public safety threats first, but no one will be left out if they are in the country illegally and they have a problem ,” he said.

The government has pledged to carry out mass deportations and tighten border security. Officials said they intend to target those with criminal histories and convictions, but also stressed they may arrest anyone who is in the U.S. illegally. Currently, there are more than 7 million people on ICE’s undetained list.

“The administration has made it clear that we’re going to start making arrests on day one, and Chicago likely won’t be the only place where arrests are made,” a person familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

Some Democratic officials in Chicago, Massachusetts and Arizona said they would not cooperate with the administration.
