Trump gives companies needed assurances


TikTok will be available to some U.S. users on Sunday after President-elect Donald Trump said he would sign an executive order on Monday delaying a federal ban on the app.

In a statement about Xthe company wrote that it would restore access to U.S. users.

“TikTok is restoring service under agreements with our service providers,” TikTok wrote. “We thank President Trump for providing our service providers with the necessary clarity and assurances to ensure they are providing services to the more than 170 million U.S. People who provide TikTok and allow more than 7 million small businesses to thrive will not face any penalties.”

The company added that the decision was a “firm stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship.” “We will work with President Trump on long-term solutions to keep TikTok in the United States.”
