president Donald Trump announced on tuesday open artificial intelligence, Oracle and Softbank Invest billions of dollars AI America’s infrastructure.

Executives committed an initial investment of $100 billion and up to $500 billion over the next four years in the project, which will be established as an independent company.

“What we want to do is keep it in this country,” Trump said of artificial intelligence, noting China as a major competitor in the nascent industry.

Ellison said in the Roosevelt Room that Stargate’s first joint venture will build a data center in Texas, and that work is already underway.

OpenAI later said in an

SoftBank’s son will serve as Stargate’s chairman, while semiconductor companies Arm, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Oracle and OpenAI will be “key initial technology partners,” OpenAI said in the post.

The son has been announced In December, when he visited then-President-elect Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, he unveiled a four-year, $100 billion investment in artificial intelligence in the United States.

At the time, Trump joked that he had pressured Son to increase his commitment to $200 billion.

“Now I’m back with $50 billion,” Son quipped at the White House on Tuesday.

In his speech, Trump said the $500 billion figure would be separate from Son’s previous commitments.

“We know that Masa has made separate commitments of $100 to $200 billion, in addition to the $500 billion Stargate project,” Trump said.
