Turki Alsheikh has revealed the fight he would like to see happen in the sport. One of the hottest opponents in terms of global appeal is Canelo Alvarez’s super middleweight bout against Terence Crawford.
The 2025 fight will be a tough one for Turki, as unified three-belt 168-pound champion Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KOs) didn’t perform well against Crawford (41 -0, 31 KO) interested in a chance to fight him. However, this is understandable.
Turki’s wish list
- Canelo Alvarez vs Terrence Crawford
- Anthony Joshua VS Tyson Fury
- Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney 2
- Alexander Usyk VS Alexander Usyk Daniel Dubois 2
- Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Connor Benn
Among these matches, a rematch between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will attract many fans around the world. This may be the biggest fight in boxing history. British promoter Eddie Hearn insists Anthony Joshua’s fight with Tyson Fury is the most important fight in the sport. It’s not. That old-timer fight is unappealing. The fight was no longer interesting and wasn’t a great fight to begin with due to the lack of solid wins between the two British fighters in their careers.
Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) wants to make it clear to fans that his win over former two-division world champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) last year was not due to his use of Ostarin. This is the picture Devin and his father, Bill Haney, drew last year to explain the failure.
The British want to see Joshua vs. Fury and Eubank Jr. vs. Benn, but Americans have zero interest in those fights. Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are seen as washed-up old heavyweights who have never beaten a superior opponent.
they just Spoiled, manufactured warrior—It was never the real thing. American fans don’t care about them and they have absolutely no interest in the domestic matchup between Chris Eubank Jr. and Connor Benn. Neither man is world class and never has been.
Canelo vs. Crawford?
Canelo does nothing to gain by fighting a smaller, older boxer two weight classes below him. Crawford needs to gain 14 pounds to make his debut at 168. This game was just a means for Crawford to get his pension. Terrence looked old and bad when he made his debut at 154 against Israel Madrimov last August.
This performance showed that Terrence is not ruled out of the junior middleweight division if he takes a risk with power fighters Bakhram Murtazaliev, Serhii Bohachuk ) fought Vergil Ortiz Jr., a fight he would ultimately lose. These guys will likely take some chips away from Crawford. All of this is weighing on him and ruining his useless Canelo retirement dreams.
The Mexican star might be more willing to give Nebraskan Bud Crawford a championship opportunity if he is brave enough Move up to super middleweight and beat two or three of the top fighters. For obvious reasons, Crawford wasn’t going to do that. He just wants the Canelo fight handed to him and you can’t respect that.
If Turki offers Alvarez the kind of money he’s never seen in his long career, he could make the Canelo-Crawford fight happen this year. The Mexican star’s net worth is estimated to be 2.5 billion. Therefore, for Sheikh to win this fight, he may need to offer Canelo over $100 million.
you have to assume crawford wants wet his beak at least half If not more. From an economic perspective, it doesn’t make sense. Crawford’s record isn’t even, and this fight isn’t going to be close to break-even.
“I want to see Eubank Ben. Of course, Tyson and Joshua. (Moses) Itama deserves to be the youngest heavyweight champion.” Turki Al-Sheikh Shiekh in “Froch on Fighting” Youtube Channel about the games he would like to see in 2025.
“He still has a year to get to that number (Correction: Moses Itauma Deadline May 19, 2025breaking Mike Tyson’s record of becoming the youngest heavyweight champion),” Turki continued.
“In the American market, I want to see Canelo Crawford. I want to see a Garcia Haney rematch.”
