Rohit Sharma’s poor rate in the 2025 Premier League (IPL 2025) continued as he ran with just 17 runs in the ongoing match between the Mumbai Indian and Royal Challenger Bangalore (Wankhede Stadium).

Due to little trouble with the knee, Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai Indians to compete for XI for XI after missing his last game with the Lucknow Super Giants. With the Mumbai Indians chasing 222 runs, the former captain’s responsibility gave his team a good start with the Bats.

Rohit Sharma started knocking and hit Indian teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar with six points in the first match. At the end of the second he did two quarters back to back in Yash Dayal, then left arm pacemaker made him cast with absolute beauty.

Dayal started his point, and then Rohit Sharma won second and third delivery in the quarter. However, the RCB pacemaker gave the last laugh as he fired the veteran hitter on the fourth ball.

Meanwhile, when writing this report with Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav, the Mumbai Indians were at 52/2 after 5 points. After Rohit left, Josh Hazlewood dismissed Ryan Rickelton with 17 points, lowering Mumbai to 38.

Early in the game, the 50s from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar helped RCB total 221/5. Kohli scored 67 while Patidar scored 64. JiteshSharma also scored 40 key knocks, not just 19 goals.

Rohit Sharma’s performance in the ongoing IPL 2025 was disappointing to say the least. The Indian captain started his battle with the ducks against the Chennai Super Kings, then hit the Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight riders for 8 and 13 respectively.

When the five-time champions hope to revive their campaign, he will be desperate to regain his best form and win the matches for the Mumbai Indians.
