“Your network is your net value”: Admit why an MBA label is still worth in a world first


At a time when the whole world seems to debate degrees and skills sets, a student’s Reddit publication has made a convincing case for a MBA from a world -famous institution like InsEAD, ISB or MIT, it can be a change in play, not only for professional progression, but for long -term influence and access.

Sharing his personal journey, the name Akshay, a VTU mechanical engineer with 3.5 years of experience at the L&T, reflected on how even a solid base and recognitions such as the “Rising Star Award”, he felt that “out of great opportunities.” This changed when he got an admission from ISB and INEAD, choosing the latter for his January 2025 intake.

“It was not just the brand (though many doors open), but it was access to bright minds, alumni that respond to your messages just because you share a school and the confidence that it gives you to the rooms you felt too small,” he wrote.

Despite what many would call a modest GMAT score of 630, Akshay emphasized the power of narratives and the actual impact on their application, and now uses his experience to inspire other people with the aim of the most important schools.

Its publication emphasized the compound value of elite MBA networks over time. “Five, ten years below, when you are increasing capital, pivoting industries or looking for council seats, this student label speaks before they do it,” he said.

He also stated tangible examples of colleagues who took advantage of their MBA brands to land CXO, Spearhead Global Expansions, and became a great deal of participation in risky capital and private capital. “It’s not just about getting a job,” he said, “it’s about having a seat on the table where real decisions, offers and impacts occur.”

For those who consider the business school, Akshay’s message is clear: a first -class MBA is not only an education, but also a long -term investment in credibility, connection and confidence.
