The Shani Trophy will thrill cricket fans next month with Marquee Indian players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia confirmed to take part in the unique format of the tournament.
The match will be hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), Lucknow Cricket Association and Divya Future Sports. Shani’s Trophy will provide fans with a unique experience of watching retired cricket legends, current Ranji Trophy players and talented state-level cricketers in action.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in Lucknow. Apart from former Rajasthan Royals teammates Yuzvendra Chahal, Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia, Tamil Nadu’s rising star B Sai Sudharsan and veteran all-rounder Jayant Yadav will also be part of this exciting Shani trophy .
The Shani Trophy will be crowned an exciting 25-point draw with 10 teams taking part in the high-stakes competition. Fans can enjoy two games each day – one in the morning and another in the afternoon or evening. Recently, India chief selector Chetan Sharma was appointed as Shani Trophy brand ambassador to reach out to a wider crowd.
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and Lucknow Cricket Association have officially sanctioned the event, as stated by Mr. Sumit Shukla, Chairman of the Shani Trophy and Managing Director of Divya Future Sports. In partnership with Divya Future Sports, UPCA aims to create a premier cricket tournament that blends tradition with innovation.

In an official statement, Sumit Shukla said, “We are delighted to partner with Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and Lucknow Cricket Association (CAL) for this unique format. At UPCA With the support of CAL and the participation of some of cricket’s best players, we aim to provide fans with an unforgettable cricket experience.”
Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal and Riyan Parag will not be seen together in pink for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL 2025 as the star Indian Leg-Spinner has joined Kings XI Punjab (PBKS) for the next season . Chahal will play under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2025.
Chahal last played for India in 2023 but was part of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad. But he didn’t get a single game in the game. However, the leg-spinner has been a regular in the IPL, taking 205 wickets in 160 matches so far. Chahal and Dhanashree got married in December 2020.
