14-year-old Ira Jadhav smashes incredible 346* to create history with record-breaking performance


14-year-old Ira Jadhav etched her name in the record books with a superb batting performance in the Girls U-19 One-Day Cup on Sunday (January 12). She became the first Indian woman cricketer to score a triple hundred in limited-overs matches.

Ira Jadhav achieved this feat while representing Mumbai in the Women’s U-19 One-Day Cup match against Meghalaya. The match between the two teams was held at the Aroor Cricket Ground and history was written by the young batsman.

Ira Jadhav scored 346 runs off 157 balls in an innings, helping Mumbai score a total of 563 runs

Ira Jadhav, who was named as one of the three alternates in the Indian team for the upcoming U-19 Women’s World Cup, scored an impressive 346 runs off 157 balls. Her team Mumbai put a huge total on the board and took control of the game.

Ira Jadhav was at her attacking best as she hit 42 fours and 16 sixes in the innings. The 14-year-old made no mistake in the match as she scored 274 for the second wicket with captain Hurley Gala (116) before sharing the win with Diksha Pawar ( Diksha Pawar) (39) together scored 186 runs for the third wicket.

With her stellar performance with the bat, Mumbai lost 3 wickets in 50 overs and scored a total of 563 runs. Her innings will surely send a strong message to the selectors and may even force them to include the batsman in their main squad for the upcoming U-19 Women’s World Cup.

Ira Jadhav also became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple hundred in 50-over cricket. If she has the opportunity to be selected into the main lineup of the World Cup, she will definitely maintain good condition during the game and help the team win the championship.

Her stunning performances with the bat even led to former India women’s national cricket team captain Diana Adulji praising her efforts. She told TOI: “Hats off to Ira, she is an U-15 player and has played across all age groups. Hope to see her in the India jersey.”

Ira Jadhav recently became the youngest player to register for the WPL 2025 auction. However, she’s not sold, but with her now playing a big inning, she’ll definitely be on the radar of some teams, especially if someone gets hurt in training camp before or during the game.

Apart from her, only four female cricketers have scored double centuries at the U19 level. These include current India captain Smriti Mandhana (224 not out in 2013), Raghvi Bist (219 not out), Jemimah Rodrigues (202 not out) and Sanika Chalke (200).
